Some proposal stories are months in the making, and Jake and Kendall’s surprise proposal was one I’ll never forget.
When Jake first reached out to me, we were planning something much closer to home. The original idea was to photograph his proposal at a local park in Pennsylvania, and we had started working through all of the details to make sure everything went perfectly.
As the proposal date got closer, Jake contacted me with a new idea.
He and Kendall had planned a trip to Savannah, Georgia, and he wondered if there was any chance I could travel there to photograph the proposal instead.
My answer was simple: absolutely.
I checked my calendar, rearranged a few things, and booked my trip to Savannah. I love documenting surprise proposals, and being able to travel to capture moments like these is one of the best parts of my job.

Planning the Perfect Surprise Proposal at Forsyth Park
One of the biggest keys to a successful surprise proposal is preparation.
The evening before the proposal, I headed over to Forsyth Park to scout the location. I walked through the park, looked at lighting, foot traffic, and different angles, and then sent photos to Jake so we could confirm the exact location where he wanted to propose.
Having that plan in place helped everything unfold exactly as we had hoped.

She Said Yes!
When the day finally arrived, I blended into the crowd while Jake and Kendall walked through the park.
As they approached the fountain, Jake got down on one knee.
The look on Kendall’s face was priceless.
She was completely surprised—not only by the proposal but also when she realized I had traveled all the way from Pennsylvania to photograph the moment for them.
There were happy tears, huge smiles, tight hugs, and one incredibly heartfelt “Yes!”
These are the moments that remind me why I love proposal photography so much. They’re genuine, emotional, and completely unforgettable.

Engagement Photos Around Forsyth Park
After taking a few minutes for the newly engaged couple to soak everything in, we spent time exploring one of Savannah’s most iconic locations.
Forsyth Park is easily one of my favorite places for engagement photos in Savannah. Between the famous white fountain, the beautiful oak trees draped with Spanish moss, the charming walkways, and the historic atmosphere, every corner offers a beautiful backdrop.
We wandered through the park capturing a mix of candid moments and portraits that truly reflected who Jake and Kendall are together. Their excitement was contagious, and you could see how happy they were in every single photograph.

Thinking About Planning a Surprise Proposal?
Whether you’re planning to propose in your hometown, another state, or halfway across the country, I’d love to help you capture one of the biggest moments of your life.
From helping choose the perfect location to scouting the area ahead of time, coordinating timelines, and making sure everything stays a surprise, I’m here to make the experience as stress-free as possible.
And yes—I travel.
Jake’s proposal is proof that your photographer doesn’t have to be local to your destination. If you have a vision for your proposal anywhere in the United States (or beyond), I’m always excited to pack my camera and come along.
If you’re looking for a Savannah proposal photographer, a destination proposal photographer, or someone who is willing to travel wherever your story takes you, I’d love to hear what you’re planning.
Let’s create something unforgettable together.
