When wedding days begin with pouring rain and gloomy forecasts, it can feel like everything is working against you. But for Mackenzie and Dakotah, their wedding day at Cherry Run Lodge turned into the kind of joyful, emotional, and unforgettable celebration everyone hopes for.
Nestled in the countryside of Homer City, Pennsylvania, Cherry Run Lodge created the perfect backdrop for their wedding day — from the cozy cabin ceremony space to the treehouse-inspired reception area complete with a tree growing through the center of the venue. Every part of the property felt warm, inviting, and uniquely them.

A Rainy Morning Turned Into the Perfect Outdoor Wedding
When we arrived at Cherry Run Lodge, the rain was absolutely pouring. The forecast showed storms all day, and it looked like the entire celebration might have to move indoors. But just after the girls finished getting ready, the rain stopped almost completely — giving Mackenzie and Dakotah the outdoor wedding they had envisioned.
Their ceremony took place on the grass in front of the cabin ceremony space surrounded by family, friends, and the fresh post-rain greenery that made everything feel even more romantic. The overcast skies created the softest light for photos, and the entire property looked incredibly vibrant after the storm passed.
Sometimes the most stressful wedding mornings lead to the most beautiful wedding days.

A Sweet First Look With Roscoe
One of the most emotional moments of the day had nothing to do with the timeline or traditions — it was Mackenzie’s first look with their dog, Roscoe.
Roscoe is truly the pride and joy of Mackenzie and Dakotah’s lives, and including him in the wedding day made everything feel even more personal. Watching Mackenzie light up during their first look together was one of those moments everyone nearby will remember for a long time.
Couples are finding more and more meaningful ways to include their pets in their weddings, and this was such a perfect example of how special those moments can be.

The bridal party photos were taken in front of the reception area where the stunning stone chimney and landscaping created the perfect backdrop. Mackenzie and Dakotah’s portraits were captured throughout the grounds, including near the pond and beside the honeymoon cabin tucked away in the back of the property.

A Treehouse-Inspired Reception Full of Energy
The reception space at Cherry Run Lodge truly feels like a hidden treehouse. With rustic wood details and a real tree running through the middle of the venue, it created such a fun and memorable atmosphere for the evening celebration.
Mackenzie and Dakotah made one thing very clear throughout the day: they wanted to spend meaningful time with their friends and family and fully enjoy the party. And that is exactly what happened.
The dance floor stayed packed all night thanks to an incredible combination of music and live entertainment. Their saxophone player brought so much energy into the reception and instantly got everyone hyped and ready to celebrate.
From emotional dances to nonstop partying, the reception perfectly reflected who Mackenzie and Dakotah are as a couple — fun, welcoming, and deeply connected to the people they love most.

A Mashed Potato Bar and Sparkler Send-Off
As the night continued, guests were treated to a late-night mashed potato bar that quickly became one of the biggest hits of the evening. It was the perfect comfort food after hours of dancing and celebrating.
To close out the night, Mackenzie and Dakotah shared a beautiful sparkler send-off surrounded by cheering friends and family. It was the perfect ending to a wedding day that started with uncertainty but turned into something truly unforgettable.
