A Last-Minute Engagement Session That Came Together Perfectly: Lauren & Nick

Every once in a while, the stars align just right—and that’s exactly what happened with this sweet couple. They reached out needing engagement photos as soon as possible, and by some scheduling magic, we were able to make it work. I’m so glad we did, because this session was full of charm, personality, and Pittsburgh pride.

We started the day at the beautiful Washington’s Landing. Tucked along the Allegheny River, it’s a hidden gem with scenic walking paths, gorgeous greenery, and a peaceful vibe that made it the perfect spot to ease into the session. We took a little walk to find the best backdrops—and if you’ve never been, definitely add it to your list. It’s a stunning place to explore.

Next, we made our way over to the always lively Strip District. This part of the city has such a fun, urban energy, and it gave us a completely different feel from our earlier location. We grabbed some gelato (yes, dessert during the shoot—highly recommend!), snapped some candid shots in a nearby parking garage with a cool cityscape vibe, and wrapped it all up with a nod to Pittsburgh pride: photos surrounded by Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins gear. Because what’s more iconic than repping your city during such a special milestone?

From peaceful nature to gritty city textures and a whole lot of personality in between, this session had it all. I love when couples bring me into their story, even on short notice, and we get to create something authentic and full of joy together.
